MyGDX, Government Agency Information-Sharing Platform Launched
PUTRAJAYA, Jan 15 (Bernama) — The Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu) has introduced MyGDX application or the Malaysia Government Central Data Exchange, an information-sharing platform which provides data brokerage service for information often referred by agencies in serving their customers.
Mampu director-general Datuk Dr Mazlan Yusoff said MyGDX would enable information to be coordinated and shared across agencies more efficiently, hence taking public service delivery to greater heights.
For a start, he said MyGDX would be participated by ten government agencies including the Public Service Department, National Registration Department, Social Welfare Department, Malaysian Examinations Council and National Higher Education Fund Corporation.
“MyGDX, which was developed through resource mobilisation and integration of cross-agency systems, could not only avoid overlapping and waste of resources, but more importantly is its success in facilitating the public in dealing with government agencies,” he said at the soft launch of the application here today.
Mazlan said the initiative was in line with the aspiration to turn Malaysia into a fully developed nation, in which public agencies move as a team by optimising their resources and expertise to make high impact changes.
“This initiative is also a catalyst for a more comprehensive and inclusive government service delivery system, making it very effective because the data supplied is from authentic sources as the agencies are sharing their data and complementing each other’s information,” he said.
Mazlan said MyGDX was also capable of creating new synergies to the relevant parties in strengthening their ability to manage, plan and make decisions using the shared information and data in accordance with the national digitalisation agenda.
As such, he said MyGDX would be expanded to all potential government services so that data from various agencies were shared and used based on legal and authentic sources of origin.
